Today we said goodbye to people and places we know, and left for unfamiliar waters. After leaving Clayton, NY, we made a stop in Alexandria Bay, NY to visit Boldt Castle<\/a>, a beautifully restored mansion on a private island, built by George Boldt for his wife Louise, who tragically died before it was completed. It fell into ruins until the 1000 Islands Bridge Authority undertook restoration starting in 1970s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We then pushed on down the St. Lawrence to dock at the Municipal Harbour in Brockville, ON, our first stop in Canada, 113 nautical miles from Rochester and half way to Montreal!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brockville is a quaint town with good docking possibilities. There are also anchorages in the nearby Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
