Days 64 & 65 – A Walk in the Park

After a night riding out the storm and hoping our anchor didn’t drag, the morning finally brought some calm. That is until we heard the growl of a diesel engine a few feet outside of the boat. We ran up on deck (still in pajamas) to see what terrible collision was about to occur and prepare to abandon ship.
Cruising requires difficult decisions. When the weather is good, should we stay and enjoy a nice place, or should we take advantage of it to put some miles under our keel toward the next destination?
Sailing in Maine is stressful because there are lobster traps EVERYWHERE. But it’s so worth it!
After two wonderful months in Canada, we crossed the Bay of Fundy to land in Maine.

A mixed day. The good… a fantastic sail. The bad… fighting wind and waves. The ugly… another diesel leak.
Still at Carter’s Beach and the sun is back! Nice weather, beautiful scenery and good friends… that’s what it’s all about.
