On Monday, we experienced the Montréal lifestyle, which is sweeeeet! We started the day with our dear friend Jacinthe, who picked Sandy up for a hair color, cut and overall princess treatment at Jacinthe’s favorite salon, Interbeauté Coiffure. While Sandy was at the salon, Dan worked on the boat, provisioned and also got a haircut.
That evening, we continued to experience the Montreal lifestyle with a fabulous welcoming family dinner at the home of Jacinthe, Filip, Flo, Liz and Kiki (the fur ball cat) in Ville Mont-Royal, a suburb of the city. We are so happy to keep up the tradition of our annual get-together for the third year in a row.
Our last full day in Montréal was busy! So far, nothing on the boat has broken… except Sandy’s laptop, which we got repaired. Dan had a longstanding doctor’s appointment. We went to the marine supply store (you ALWAYS need something there) and the supermarket to provision. It will be some days until we dock in a town again so it was important to stock up.
Yesterday evening, after a drink with Jon and Cheri at the historical Pub Saint Pierre, Sandy and I had a romantic dinner a Bonaparte, a classic French restaurant in Old Montréal, where we indulged in the menu de dégustation. Outstanding!
Tomorrow, we’re off for a 46 nautical mile push on down the river on the first of several legs that will take us to Québec City.
