Delightful Dolphins

A special visit from a pod of friendly dolphins.

After several days in Brunswick, Georgia, it was time to move on to our next destination: Hilton Head, South Carolina. We broke the leg into two, anchoring overnight on the Wilmington River in the Wassaw National Wildlife Refuge.

Well, the life was truly wild thanks to an amazing visit by a large pod of dolphins. For locals, seeing dolphins is is no big deal but, for us northerners, it’s always an moment of excitement.

These animals are smart and friendly and they paid us a welcome visit.

From there, we sailed out of Georgia to our next stop: Hilton Hilton Head Island to enjoy its beautiful beaches and to catch up with our Rochester Yacht Club friends: Joe and Carol, who’ve made Hilton Head their home for the time being.
