After an overnight stop anchored at Wassaw National Wildlife Refuge, Georgia, we sailed on to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, our third state so far.
Hilton Head has beautiful homes, marinas and beaches. The Calibogue Sound, between the Island and mainland, is full of dolphins and pelicans. The beaches seem tropical with fine white sand and palm trees. For those who play golf, which we don’t, it boasts numerous world class golf courses.
We enjoyed exploring the area and swimming from the beaches, some secluded and some crawling with humanity!
A highlight of the visit was catching up with Rochester Yacht Club friends, Joe and Carol who have made Hilton Head their new home along with Baby Grand, their Grand Banks trawler.

I enjoy the photos as much as I enjoy the narrative….
Thanks, Shep!
A part la foule sur la plage, c’est vrai que les moments que vous vivez paraissent assez idylliques. Heureusement qu’il y a les “troubles” pour remettre les pieds sur terre !
On reste très conscients des troubles du monde, tout en profitant. A bientôt.
Love the manicure
Jim, You know three rules of sailing:
1. Keep the water out of the boat
2. Keep the people in the boat
3. Look GOOD!
