After 3 months and 2,145 nautical miles, we completed the voyage from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Portland, Maine.
We didn’t witness any deaths, but there is plenty of free living in Portsmouth, New Hampshire… a great town.
This hard working fishing port provides stark contrast to flamboyant P’town. We enjoyed company on the passage and caught up with QEII in port.
Having spent many childhood summer vacations on the Outer Cape, it was great to see that little has changed. If you love the sea, this area is paradise.
This bike trail, part of the Cape Cod National Seashore, is a highlight of any visit to the Outer Cape.
In order to time passage of the Cape Cod Canal to avoid fighting 4-5 knots of current we left Nantucket in the middle of the night.
Beside being the subject of many limericks (clean and dirty), it is an island resort where time’s stood still.
